Sparks is a Brooklyn-based performer, producer, and filmmaker whose deep curiosity around the facilitation of community shapes her creative practices. Sparks attended The University of The Arts where she trained in dance and vocal performance. Sparks has performed at venues including Lincoln Center, The Shed, the International Theater of Amsterdam, and Judson Church. Her first documentary dance short earned recognition as a Sundance Interdisciplinary Grantee. Sparks is currently a member of Michiyaya Dance Company while working as a guest artist with SLM Dances and Alethea Pace. She’s worked as a producer with THE OFFICE Performing Arts + Film on projects for William Kentridge, Francesca Harper, the Margaret Mead Film Festival, and the NY Jewish Film Festival, alongside freelance producing projects with Girl From The North Country Broadway, Will Rawls, New Inc’s DEMO Festival, and Broadway Advocacy Coalition. Sparks’ continued curiosity drives her exploration of the intersections between performance and community.
