Abdoul Aziz Derme

Born in 1987 in Burkina Faso, Abdoul Aziz Derme is a dancer and choreographer living and working in New York since November 2022. From the age of 10, Abdoul began training in theater. Later he started a career in contemporary dance, performing with companies in Africa, Europe and the USA from 2010 to 2020. He works with several choreographers as a performer, but also creates his own pieces in collaboration with several artists from other fields such as music, visual arts and literature. Abdoul currently teaches dance classes and workshops focused on modern-inspired African dance.
