Monica Marin

Monica Marin is an artist, curator, educator, and cultural producer from the USVI. Her collaborative curatorial practice challenges colonial hierarchies addressing historical blind spots, institutional critique, and uplifting Virgin Islands' artists/ culture-bearers. Past projects include:The Great House w/ LaVaughn Belle (2011), Migrating Histories w/ Carla Acevedo-Yates (2015), Take 5 w/ Carla Acevedo-Yates (2016), Building a Better Fishtrap by Paloma McGregor (2015), For Gowie the Deceitful Fellow by Oceana James (2016/2017). She works at the intersection of arts, social justice, and community and has curated numerous art exhibits, residencies, cultural exchanges, and performance series.
