Folklore for the Folks w/ Adia | Dunham Technique | 11 AM–12:30 PM
Join award-winning artist and Dancing While Black alum Adia Whitaker for an exploration of Dunham Technique, the embodied movement and lifestyle practice developed by Ms. Katherine Dunham in the 1920s and ’30s.
Through folklore and narrative dance, Dunham Technique offers a way to develop physical, social, and emotional awareness while exploring contemporary, vernacular, and traditional movement from around the world.
This class is for every human being — dancers and non-dancers alike. Come reawaken the connections between breath, body, environment, and each other.
